Steven wanted something that could make decisions based on it’s environment. Inputs such as sound, light, temperature could be used to understand the environment of each room. With such information the rooms lighting and heating could be controlled in an intelligent way.
Using an Arduino seemed like an interesting project.
The objective

extend the module range using with a mesh network
